What: Graham Clark hosts a 24-hour fundraiser for the reopening of comedy venue Little Mountain Gallery
Little Mountain Gallery is reopening with a 24-hour comedy marathon hosted by award winning and 2024 Juno-nominated comedian Graham Clark.
Little Mountain Gallery is an award-winning, non-profit comedy venue, 100% community programmed and managed since 2016.
The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. on April 12th and run to 7:00 p.m. on the 13th. This event marks the venue’s return after it was forced to shut its doors at its long-time Mount Pleasant home in December, 2021, due to the building’s demolition to build low-rise condos.
Since then, the organization has been working though the City of Vancouver’s permitting processes to open its new location at 110 Water Street in Gastown.
Before shutting down in 2021, long-time friend of the venue, Clark, performed comedy for 24 hours straight to help raise money to find a new space. Now, he’s back to host another.
The event serves as a fundraiser for Little Mountain Gallery, raising money so it can re-establish itself in the scene after paying for an extensive capital project and operational costs on its venue for the past two years while closed.
Partial proceeds will also be donated to WISH Vancouver, a charity that is dedicated to enhancing the health, safety, and overall well-being of women engaged in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade.
During the show, dozens of local comedians will drop by to help and inspire Clark by writing jokes for him to read and review live on stage. The event will also be live-streamed, so audiences from around the world can tune in and comics from across the country will be able to participate in the madness.
Regular programming begins April 19 with stand-up, improv, sketch and variety shows Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Tickets for the 24 hour show are available now on Showpass. Early bird tickets are available for $15 plus service fees.
Tickets are sold for a specific, 90 minute time slot over the full day starting at 7:00pm (Then 8:30pm, 10:00pm, etc.)
