Kaja Silverman: The Three-Personed Picture

  • The Polygon Gallery 101 Carrie Cates Court North Vancouver, BC, V7M 3J4 Canada (map)

Kaja Silverman—one of today’s most exciting critical thinkers in the field of photography, whose work informed the curatorial premise of The Blue Hour, the 2018 Feature Exhibition—gives a lecture based on her forthcoming book. The second in a three-volume reconceptualization of photography, The Three-Personed Picture, or the History of Photography, Part 2 (Stanford University Press, 2018) traces the gradual emergence of an image very different from those made during the first three decades of chemical photography: one that is pictorial in nature.
