Now in its 13th year, the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival (VIWIFF) showcases an impressive line-up of short, and feature films (narrative, documentary, experimental and animation) by established and emerging women filmmakers from around the world. In each of these works, women have filled at least three of the key creative roles, be it writer, director, producer, cinematographer, lead performer, editor or composer. Over six days, the festival will screen 56 films from twelve countries, five Canadian Provinces, and one Canadian territory. Amazing!

As well as screenings, the festival will host Artist Talks, Fireside Chats, Pitch Sessions, Workshops (March 9, March 10 at 9:30am - 12:00pm and at 9:30am - 11:30am), Panel Discussions (Inclusivity in the Workforce, Gender Balance in the Film & Television Industry, and Indigenous Filmmaking), and Presentations—including a VR station that will be presenting Tidal Traces, a 360-video VR dance piece that places viewers in the centre of the performance. Presented by the NFB, Tidal Traces will be stationed in the Atrium and open during most of the festival.
