Cosmic Forecast August 2023

Cosmic Forecast August 2023

The journey through August is like an adventure through deep forests and picturesque mountains.  There are as many challenging climbs as there are beautiful views. This month, the Sun moves between Leo–the sign most closely associated with our egos and identities–and Virgo–ruler of generosity, diligence, and being of service to something greater than yourself. August teaches us how important perspective is when it comes to life (and astrology). What some call a hike, others call being lost in the woods. The astrology of this month gives us the opportunity to change the way we think about ourselves and our lives and to create meaning out of any obstacles we’re currently facing.

Sell Out, A Series: 5 Questions with Aaniya Asrani

Sell Out is a series by interdisciplinary artist Angela Fama (she/they), who co-creates conversations with individual artists across Vancouver. Cosmic Forecast July 2023

Cosmic Forecast July 2023

July is about protecting our creative and emotional energy. While the Sun is in Cancer, our personal planets—Mercury, Venus, and Mars—travel through Cancer, Leo, and Virgo in close succession. Together, Cancer and Leo are like our cosmic parents. Leo makes sure that we’re expressing our authenticity with confidence. Cancer looks out for our hearts and cares for our tenderest parts. Virgo, meanwhile, creates a safe container for us to share our gifts and receive the gifts others have to give us. This month’s energy invites us to reflect on what our creativity needs to truly thrive and how to manage and tend to our emotional lives so that we feel regulated and capable.

"HIBERNATING" by Keenan Marchand

"HIBERNATING" by Keenan Marchand

Glacier waters trickle down, peppered by the cheerful cannon fire of the world’s most talkative birds. The teething wind playfully tugs and tears at my clothes. The world is waking up, and I feel a pull towards life, offering everything and promising even more. I feel the need to shake off the dust and cobwebs in my body, collected from the indeterminate amount of time I’ve spent in this hibernation. These are the richest seasons of life in all of its grand chaos and I have to catch up.
