CIRCLES Festival - Celebration of Indigenous Culture & Community

IMG_8887.JPG

(August 24, 2021, Vancouver BC) — On August 28, Andy Livingstone Park comes to life for CIRCLES, a creative demonstration to amplify Indigenous voices. Featuring leading hip-hop artists, musicians, dancers, speakers, artists and a pop-up market, this family-friendly and free event brings a powerful message.

“Often, Indigenous People don't have safe spaces for our creative expression. We are building those safe spaces, we are grassroots, and doing the groundwork needed to bring healing to our community,” says award-winning hip-hop artist, activist, and entrepreneur, Dakota Bear.

“Music is a vehicle to drive our messages and amplify our voices, music is a universal language that brings people together. We will continue to build off the strength of our ancestors, and bring our truths to light and use our platforms to fight for justice,” says Bear.

Presented by Decolonial Clothing Co x ALIVE, the lineup includes a diverse array of artists and speakers including Dakota Bear, MTV Video Music Award-winning hip hop artist Drezus, pop luminary Prado, and Afro-Indigenous hip-hop and multimedia icons Rudegang Entertainment

The event will be raising funds for the Tl’kemcheen (Lytton) community, recently devastated by wildfire damage.
