All levels are welcome for this online dance series! This fun class will blend mindfulness, improvisation, & visualization. We focus on connecting to the joy of movement. Dance and improvisational exercises will be accessible and self-paced, with a focus on exercises that help to unlock creativity and expression. The class will also include some discussion.
The goal of these classes is to help build a positive connection with dance and movement and to create new relationships and moments of inspiration in the local community. You can take each class on its own, or take all four classes - each class will offer something different. For this edition, we focus on neighbourhoods around downtown Vancouver. However, anyone can come to the class, no matter what city or country you live in! Just make sure you register ahead of time - spots are limited.
Ages 16+. No dance experience needed! Class is self-paced & tailored to your level. Taught by Alina Sotskova, Ph.D. Alina is a psychologist & contemporary dance artist. This class does not provide any counselling services. It is a class that uses principles of mindfulness and positive psychology integrated with contemporary dance and improvisation methods.
