SAD Mag Development Director
Founded in 2009, SAD Mag is a biannual magazine dedicated to covering Vancouver’s independent arts and culture from the perspective of local, emerging writers and artists. SAD Mag aspires to values of inclusivity and diversity. We are dedicated to proactively seeking out and publishing underrepresented voices, including queer folks, people of colour, Indigenous peoples, and contributors of all ages.
The Development Director is a very important volunteer position on our team, responsible for seeking out new fundraising opportunities for the magazine, including partnerships, donors, and most importantly grants. This role works closely with and is supported by all members of the staff, particularly the Co-Publishers, and the SAD Mag board of directors. This is a great opportunity to learn about the world of nonprofits and connect with others who are passionate about the arts.
A person in this role is a big thinker who can translate our big, wild creative ideas into language our grant funders can understand. You’ll work with the creative team, Operations, and the board to organize grants from start to finish. You probably really like Google docs.
