Trash Issue: Call for Submissions
SAD Mag is hunting for story pitches or submissions of poetry and prose (from 400 to 1,200 words) for our next issue. The theme is TRASH and we are looking for writing that informs and surprises us. We are after your trashiest stories, articles, and analysis and we welcome creative interpretations of our theme.
Topics to consider are pulp fiction, actual garbage, metaphorical garbage, talking trash, trash television, clubbing, trashy fashion, personal taste, and repurposed garbage. Successful submissions will be published online or in our print issue. Writers whose work is selected for our print issue will receive an honorarium between $50-$150 pending funding.
We are based in Vancouver British Columbia, and we like to champion the work of emerging writers with ties to our province. We are dedicated to inclusivity—of viewpoints and voices—and are especially interested in work that showcases perspectives not often reflected in mainstream media.
