Preview: WAV_FORMS at Index Gallery

What are you doing on June 3rd? If you're longing for some vibe-y performance and mixed media arts, we've got a great idea. Catch Sean Evans and Chris Dammeyer as they present the newest edition of WAV_FORMS at Index Gallery in Vancouver on June 3 at 9PM.

Evans and Dammeyer

Sean and Chris are Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artists with a passion for novel artwork and unique music. A year in the making, WAV_FORMS is a collaboration between Sean Evans’ explorations in sound design and Chris Dammeyer’s ongoing experimentation with light, color and texture.

The performance debuted last year at Untitled Art Space and involves both live and recorded visual projections with improvised ambient music to create a unique experience. Inspired by music festivals like New Forms in Vancouver and Mutek in Montreal, the duo’s goal is to create a one-off manipulation of the space within which the viewer resides and to reconfigure what one expects from a typical electronic music performance.

Sean and Chris are also opening the initial performance of neighbour Victoria’s Pretty Good Not Bad festival on June 17-19.  In its inaugural year, the festival aims to provide a platform for the deep and diverse creative scenes Victoria and Vancouver contain to thrive and gain greater recognition. PGNB has planned a wide range of creative disciplines to perform in unconventional spaces around Victoria for a weekend not to be missed.

We're really excited for this show. Tickets are $10 and will be well worth the investment on a Friday night. Doors are at 9PM, and we'll be there allllll night. Check out this clip from the show at Untitled Art Space by Sarah England. See you there!
